Frosted Thoughts

Oxnard– It’s funny the lessons I learn sometimes as I roll through life, which can smack you right in the face.

AS I previously mentioned, I agreed to help a company move forward, but never in life did I think I would encounter things we have long since placed in our rearview mirror.

A good news article informs the reader and is not a 500-word summary to review, and some companies need help understanding this.

Now, I’ll admit that I’m a bit verbose in my articles, but it’s unacceptable to reprint a staff report from a meeting and add a couple of nonsense quotes to make it sound like the author was paying attention. Details, like who said what during a session, matter.

Rule number two came to light this weekend when an unfortunate set of circumstances caused me to be double booked for two events.

Okay, I emailed my problem with a solution to the person running the editorial division, who offered to deal with the problem, and I asked to be kept in the loop, and that never happened.

You have to wonder about a communications company that has no idea how to communicate with each other. I’m going to express my findings to the people in charge this week, and once again, I’m sure I’ll be the most hated guy on the planet.

Enough about my stupid decisions. I hope everyone is dry and safe back home. I may be watching the brutal weather from out of the region, but I have kept updating the Sentry’s Facebook page with any information as it becomes available. If you are in harm’s way, take shelter, be safe, and don’t try to manage the storm alone.

Life for the City Mouse in the Country continues to be a struggle, as I’ve had to cover some events that exceed the range on my electric car. The J-Train’s car has a more extended range, so I used her car, which is the dirtiest car ever, full of garbage, dirt, crumbs, and enough hair to weave a wig. I do have the Oldsmobile, which needs a new battery, so I guess I’ll spend money on that this week. I’m not looking forward to that expense.

I thought it would help me to unpack a little bit more, which helps because I hate clutter, but it doesn’t ingratiate me to the area at all. We did hook up one of the televisions tonight, which helps, but it took forever. We called for help, which proved to be no help, but I looked at the issue and figured it out. You’d think I’d learn about putting the J-Train in charge of anything, but let’s face it: I’m a little naive about things like this.

I guess you live and learn, and I’ll be happy when I come through on the other side.

I hope everyone has a happy, safe, and dry week. God bless my beloved sons, who I am always proud of and spend their days moving forward and making me one proud Dad.
